I just wrote a piece for the new Venus on handmade holiday cards, and I love how it turned out! I got to include pieces from some of my favorite indie designers like Love Forever, Red Bat Press, and Awkward Wave…

The new issue is absolutely gorgeous — don’t miss the Holiday Craft-Off projects! I really love the cool little record tables how-to from Enid Crow, and the darling gift-wrapping ideas from Anna Joyce (you can see a sneak peek above, it’s on the facing page).

I had so much fun doing this project, and I especially want to thank my editor, Emilie Zanger, who has made the DIY section of the magazine shine over the last two years, and given me so many great assignments. I’ve always loved Venus, and thanks to her eye for all things cool, it looks better than ever!
