cool! I'm so glad people are liking the mags -- I think the best day of the month is when I get my favorites in the mail... and I just love how fresh the modern crafty magazines are too, so many great projects.

flibbertygibbet, I know CRAFT does int'l subscriptions and also online digital/PDF subs (via craftzine.com), and I'm pretty sure at least some of the others are global too. Also, I saw that decor8 organizes int'l magazine swaps between people in the US and other countries -- maybe you could swap with someone who's looking for cool British mags?

and jaime, yes! that photo in RM #2 was printed in reverse, and I thought it looked so crazy that I was essentially sewing backwards. So funny that you noticed that too. Congrats on your new blog, I'm reading it -- and in case anyone can't click on it directly, it's http://auntjaime.wordpress.com.

Thanks! Like Jaime, I got the Adorn magazine after reading your blog, and it's great. Now I'm purusing Cutting Edge. It's so nice to have craft and sewing magazines that aren't hopelessly out of date!

I got the Adorn issue after reading your blog about the article on Portland. I have to say that I was impressed with the magazine. I had passed over this a couple times previously and now wish that I hadn't. I remember the very first issue of ReadyMade. My friend in college got it and I held on to it for about a year before he made me give it back. I purchased several issues after that, but it started to loose my attention after about the fifth issue. No offense. My feelings might be hurt because they didn't repond to an idea I sent them. I revisited them after reading this and found an article you did in issue 2. There is a reversed image of you (I think) at the sewing machine. At first I was confused, thinking that I had never seen a sewing machine for lefties. I have to say that my all time favorite magazine was Nest. I found it for the first time at Powells when I was living in Portland. My mother in law got me a subscription for Christmas. I have nearly every issue, but am sad to say it is no longer in production. A side note: I am attempting to do my own blog, as I find this blog world all too addictive. We'll see how it goes.

I bought that Sew Stylish at Costco and made the 2 minute shrug. It certainly did NOT take me two minutes. (I think mostly because I bought this lacy ready made sweater fabric, which was pretty hard to hem on my old machine.) Anyway, I LOVE the result, and I wear the thing almost every day. I have been wanting to blog it, but I can't sort out how to get a good photo of it.
