it’s a girl!
May 13, 2008 at 11:52 am | In chatty | 19 CommentsI’m so happy to announce that our daughter Pearl is finally here! She arrived last Tuesday and she is such a sweet little thing — she has been so much fun. I can hardly believe that we get to keep her!
I think she looks just like Andrew — she has so much gorgeous dark hair! — which is exactly what I was hoping for. I put up a few more pictures here on flickr too…
I’m going to take a few more days to hang out with her but I’ll be back soon! Thanks for the sweet emails and check-ins, I appreciate them so much.
my first two beading videos are up…
May 4, 2008 at 6:17 pm | In bead simple, projects to do | 1 CommentJust wanted to mention that my first two technique videos from Bead Simple are up on my book website if you’d like to check them out! I filmed one for making Solo Earrings (or any other simple bead embellishment like a pendant or bracelet dangle) and one for wire looping the Vintagesque Necklace (on the book cover). Thanks for posting about them, Diane and Jenny!

They’re both posted on the on the Bead Simple technique videos + patterns page, and I’ll have another bunch of videos joining them there in the next little while after a short personal break — kind of a mini-maternity leave! See you in a few days… hope to have some exciting news to post about soon!
free VOTE! poster at buy olympia
May 1, 2008 at 4:10 pm | In art and craft, craftivism, free crafty | 2 CommentsI’ve been kind of swamped with tying up loose ends for work, so haven’t had a chance to post much over here this week — still no baby, but I’ll announce whenever there is exciting news! I also have high hopes of posting this little craft-room-organizing tutorial I’ve been meandering around with but haven’t finished up the last few photos. So while I’m in limbo I thought I’d mention this fantastic offer I just heard about via buy olympia:
This is our call to action. At buyolympia.com, we believe strongly in making yourself heard. To help you get your message out, we’re giving away 10,000 posters to encourage people to vote. The posters include a space that lets you personalize them; write your message and let the world see it.
So if you visit their site and order the gorgeous Nikki McClure poster, it’s totally free, and shipping is free to US addresses — they are giving away 10,000 posters, a limit of 25 to each person.
I love this idea and the poster imagery is absolutely beautiful. Yay Nikki McClure and buy olympia!
Three weeks til we vote in our primary here… I can’t wait.
