My favorite handmade baby things over at the Storque!

July 16, 2008 at 4:31 pm | In crafting with kids, new writing! | 2 Comments

Just wanted to mention that a post I wrote for The Storque’s Handmade Kids series is up today — I picked a dozen of my favorite handmade gifts for a new mama and baby, which was super fun. In case you’re wondering, the single most useful thing we have for her is a good swaddling blanket, but who can resist a cute hand-screened onesie or a colorful star mobile?

Handmade Kids spotlight for The Storque

I may not have much time to make my own cool stuff for Pearl or my friends’ babies these days (sigh) but I can definitely pick out some lovely things that other people crafted. Thank you to Vanessa and Christina for the fun assignment!

  1. Wonderful! I have baby gifts to buy this week in fact. I think the pirate screened onesie that I sent a new mom (found on Etsy!) was the most well-received gift I’ve ever given.

  2. Hey Susan!
Thanks so much for featuring my onesie and what a great article too! So nice to see Portland crafters featured :)
