spring plans
March 24, 2010 at 2:41 pm | Posted in chatty, house crafty, I love to make things..., projects to do | 4 CommentsIt is so beautiful out today, and I’m so excited about spring! I have some fun projects planned.
First up is an Easter dress to sew. Last year Pearl wore one of mine from 1975, but this year I want to make her a new one (um, from a pattern from 1975, actually). I’m also dreaming up some crafty surprises to add to her Easter basket…
And thanks to lots of help from Patrick, we have a new raised bed, right next to the first one Andrew and I built last year! Super exciting.
I got all of our starts yesterday: leeks, collard greens, rainbow chard, and red Russian kale (my favorite). I’m consulting my new gardening book to plan when to put everything in.
So here are my before pictures… hopefully I’ll have some afters to share soon too!

I’m a fan from Malaysia. Love your crafts and sewing project! Do share a photo of the Easter dress you’re sewing once it’s done please!

oh, thanks so much, Hanie! I definitely will. thanks to my taxes taking over this week, I’m only at the prewashed-fabric stage, but I’m excited to get sewing

Susan, I can’t wait to see Pearl’s Easter dress. Very sweet little retro pattern there too. The thrift shops around here have so many hidden sewing treasures;).
What are you using in your raised beds? soil, I mean. The man and I just built a raised bed for our back yard. I can’t believe how much the kids like to eat veggies that come from our own gardens. Carrots and Cantaloupe were last years favorites. This year I’m adding to the herb garden, I loved steping outside to pick what I needed for lunch/dinner.

oh, you are so lucky with your weather. Everything grows so well and lush. I might be able to plant some tomatoes in June. That’s if it doesn’t snow.
